Ultimately, this is where you want to be.   Position Overview Mackenzie Health is currently recruiting a Specialist in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Physiatrist) on the inpatient musculoskeletal rehabilitation unit (12 High-Intensity and 10 Low-Tolerance Long Duration beds) with opportunities to consult on patients in Complex Continuing Care and Acute Medicine beds in hospital with physiatric needs. The Physician will work in collaboration with the Chief of Family Practice, the Physician Lead, Complex Continuing Care and Palliative Care, and the Physician Lead, Rehabilitation.   Responsibilities As a Physiatrist, the Physician will be responsible for the following: • Provides Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation consultative assessment of physical, mental and occupational rehabilitation needs of patients in the high-intensity rehabilitation program, and on an as-needed basis on LTLD, CCC and Medicine programs at Mackenzie Health Richmond Hill Hospital • Addresses musculoskeletal issues such as pain, deformity, immobility and other physiatric barriers limiting progression within a rehabilitation program, candidacy for a rehabilitation program or other disposition • Works closely with other Mackenzie Health Physiatrist(s) to negotiate cross-hospital consultation or coverage if/when necessary. Opportunity to provide support for MSK consultations at other sites depending on consultation volumes. • Collaborates with community partners to support hospital pathways for small number of patients in other physiatric populations (amputee, stroke, SCI) • Participates in meetings and committees, as required. • Performs duties and responsibilities as agreed upon by the Division Head. • Performs duties and responsibilities outlined in the Hospital By-laws, department and division rules, and applicable policies. Our community-based locations and services continue to provide additional support to the Western York Region.   Position Overview   Mackenzie Health is seeking multiple psychiatrists full-time – Inpatient, Outpatient, Geriatric, and Child and Adolescent. The Physicians will work in consultation with the Chief of Psychiatry as well as the other physicians within the department. There is an on-call requirement as determined by the needs of the department. The Physicians are expected to provide coverage at both sites. Ultimately, this is where you want to be.   Position Overview The successful candidate will join a collegial, dedicated team consisting of 5 general medical oncologists and 3 hematologists (1 benign and 2 benign/malignant). The Oncology Clinic Team includes a dedicated psychotherapist and palliative care physicians, in addition to oncology nurses, chemotherapy pharmacists, administrative assistants, social workers and dieticians. The successful candidate will also be responsible for inpatient Hematology consults, benign and malignant at both sites, on a rotating schedule with Hematology colleagues. All Hematology inpatients at both hospital sites are admitted under the hospitalist inpatient care model with Hematologists providing only inpatient consultation services (not MRP). Along with other Department of Medicine subspecialists, Hematologists are required to round approximately one weekend every 8-12 weeks on a Medicine inpatient ward from 8am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday. The ACU will also act as a Urologic Hospitalist and manage the inpatient Urology service as well as evaluating and provide continuing care for in-patient Urologic consultations. The ACU will have access to available ACU resources within the Division of Urology. The ACU would be expected to provide daily daytime call coverage and participate in an equal share of weekend and weeknight on-call coverage within the Division of Urology.   The physician must complete a full credentialing application and must have their appointment approved by the Medical Advisory Committee and Board of Directors. The appointment will not be official until the approval of the Board of Directors has been obtained. The physician will be credentialed according to the terms specified in the Hospital By-laws.   Responsibilities As an Acute Care Urologist, the Physician will be responsible for the following: • Examine, diagnose, treat and provide care for inpatients with acute Urologic issues as delegated by other physicians and accepted by the ACU. • Provide dedicated ward coverage to consistently meet discharge targets. • Manage patients through the continuum of hospital care. • Order treatments, tests and consult with specialty physicians and primary care physicians where necessary. • Provide timely Urologic consultative services and emergency care for patients referred from the emergency department. • Provide Urologic consultations on patients already admitted to other services. • Assume MRP, treat, and provide appropriate surgical care and discharge on admitted and emergency Urology patients during the ACU week. • Perform semi-urgent and emergency surgery utilizing ACU resources within the Division of Urology. • Provide ACU clinic coverage for consultations and procedures utilizing ACU resources within the Division of Urology, including access to cystoscopic procedures for inpatients and outpatients • Clinical coverage for outpatient clinics as delegated by the Division Chief. • Participate as required in multi-disciplinary rounds. • Participate in meetings/committees ad hoc as it pertains to surgical patients and/or other surgical areas/redevelopment activities. • Perform duties and responsibilities as agreed upon by the Division of Urology. • Perform duties and responsibilities outlined in the Hospital By-laws, Department and Division Rules, and applicable policies. Members of the Surgical Assist Division will be required to be available to take call for at least one or more 24-hour call period (can be divided) per month.
