DATA QUALITY SPECIALIST – Oncology   Reporting to the Program Director, the Data Quality Specialist will be responsible for the quality, collection and data review and will act as a key resource to ensure that data from patient charts effectively and efficiently get processes which ultimately will support the delivery of quality care and better patient outcomes. Ultimately, this is where you want to be.   Position Overview Mackenzie Health is currently recruiting an Acute Care Urologist (ACU) to be readily available to evaluate and manage patients in the emergency department in an expedient fashion as well as manage semi-acute patients referred from the emergency department. The ACU will also act as a Urologic Hospitalist and manage the inpatient Urology service as well as evaluating and provide continuing care for in-patient Urologic consultations. The ACU will have access to available ACU resources within the Division of Urology. The ACU would be expected to provide daily daytime call coverage and participate in an equal share of weekend and weeknight on-call coverage within the Division of Urology.   The physician must complete a full credentialing application and must have their appointment approved by the Medical Advisory Committee and Board of Directors. The appointment will not be official until the approval of the Board of Directors has been obtained. The physician will be credentialed according to the terms specified in the Hospital By-laws.   Responsibilities As an Acute Care Urologist, the Physician will be responsible for the following: • Examine, diagnose, treat and provide care for inpatients with acute Urologic issues as delegated by other physicians and accepted by the ACU. • Provide dedicated ward coverage to consistently meet discharge targets. • Manage patients through the continuum of hospital care. • Order treatments, tests and consult with specialty physicians and primary care physicians where necessary. • Provide timely Urologic consultative services and emergency care for patients referred from the emergency department. • Provide Urologic consultations on patients already admitted to other services. • Assume MRP, treat, and provide appropriate surgical care and discharge on admitted and emergency Urology patients during the ACU week. • Perform semi-urgent and emergency surgery utilizing ACU resources within the Division of Urology. • Provide ACU clinic coverage for consultations and procedures utilizing ACU resources within the Division of Urology, including access to cystoscopic procedures for inpatients and outpatients • Clinical coverage for outpatient clinics as delegated by the Division Chief. • Participate as required in multi-disciplinary rounds. • Participate in meetings/committees ad hoc as it pertains to surgical patients and/or other surgical areas/redevelopment activities. • Perform duties and responsibilities as agreed upon by the Division of Urology. • Perform duties and responsibilities outlined in the Hospital By-laws, Department and Division Rules, and applicable policies.
