Nurse Practitioner - CVH and MRHH Acute Neurology Temporary Part- Time (Approximately 18 months)   The Nurse Practitioner (NP) as an autonomous health professional with advanced education, provides essential health services grounded in professional, ethical and legal standards. The Acute Neurology Nurse Practitioner integrates in-depth knowledge of advanced nursing practice and theory, health management, health promotion, disease/injury prevention, and other relevant biomedical and psychosocial theories to provide comprehensive health services. NURSE PRACTITIONER - Rehabilitation Care: Alternate Level of Care (ALC) and Complex Continuing Care/Rehabilitation Reactivation Care Centre Permanent Part- Time   POSITION SUMMARY   The Nurse Practitioner (NP) as an autonomous health professional with advanced education, provides essential health services grounded in professional, ethical and legal standards. The Nurse Practitioner integrates in-depth knowledge of advanced nursing practice and theory, health management, health promotion, disease/injury prevention, and other relevant biomedical and psychosocial theories to provide comprehensive health services. The Nurse Practitioner works in collaboration with clients and other health-care providers in the provision of high-quality patient-centred care. They work with diverse client populations in a variety of contexts and practice settings.   The RN (EC) has an expanded scope of practice that includes a range of diagnoses, prescribing a range of drugs and ordering a range of diagnostic tests. The RN (EC) role will encompass the full scope of advanced nursing practice blended with expanded functions including medical directives.   PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES   - Practices in accordance with provincial legislation, professional and ethical standards and policy. - Understands scope of practice of the nurse practitioner along with responsibilities and accountabilities. - Consults with and/or refers clients to other health-care providers at any point in the care continuum when the client’s condition is not within the nurse practitioner’s scope of practice or the individual nurse practitioner’s competence. - Advocates for clients in relation to therapeutic interventions, health care access, the health care system and policy decisions that affect health and quality of life. - Collaborates with members of the health care team to provide and promote interprofessional client-centred care at the individual, organizational and system levels.
