Service Assistant, Woman and Child Program
Status
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Service Assistant will assist in performing a variety of routine functions related to the support of the program, following infection control and departmental policies and procedures. The Service Assistant will be accountable for stocking and ensuring the readiness of patient rooms, Operating Rooms, Resuscitation Areas, Triage, etc
Contribute to safe, quality care by
- Assisting the WCP staff with moving chairs, beds, stretchers, machines and other equipment.
- Assisting with the transportation of patients within the program, under direct clinical supervision.
- Delivering and picking up equipment and supplies.
- Delivering patient lab specimens, blood tests, x-rays to appropriate area.
- Setting up isolation precautions (linen hampers, cart, waste container, isolation linen.
- Distributing linen to patient room.
- Following the direction from the health care team in code situations and peak activity time.
- Monitoring and emptying soiled linen bins.
- Decluttering patient room upon patient discharge and ensures room readiness for patient admission.
- Performing regular safety checks on patient room (i.e. check of bed alarms, ensures room is free of trip hazards).
- Performing regular audits as required (i.e. Hand-Hygiene Audit Checklist).
- Assisting with room cleanliness
- re-stocking isolation supplies
- Maintaining inventory levels of Non-JIT supply carts and provides inventory list to Unit Secretary.
- Required to rotate throughout their shift and as needed
What must you have?
- Completion of Grade 12 education or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate.

System Support Representative – Business ServicesCasual Part Time (3) The System Support Representative staff reports to and will work directly with the Manager of Business Services to provide support for Integrated Bedside System. The System Support Representative will build strong and effective on-site relationships with Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital internal customers to effectively provide best customer service. This role will assist with setting up and supporting My Care premium services, generate sales through active personal contact with patients and families and address any inquiries as needed. They will provide basis technical support and escalate as needed as well as track and manage inventory. Position Overview
Mackenzie Health is currently recruiting for Surgical Assist Physicians to assist in the Operating Room at both sites with a start date of November 1, 2022. Surgical Assist Physicians are required to apply to the Department of Family Practice for Associate Active privileges. Members of the Surgical Assist Division will be required to be available to take call for at least one or more 24-hour call period (can be divided) per month.
Furthermore, they must remain within a 20-minute drive of the hospital for their full call period.

- Experience working with elderly and cognitively impaired patients.

- Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.

- Shift coverage may include areas within Medicine, Surgery, Complex Continuing Care, Palliative Care, Mental Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and RCC.

Preferably, your profile also includes:
- Previous experience within the classification
- Previous experience working in hospital, long-term care, or complex continuing care experience as a Patient Care Assistant.
- Received training in management of responsive behaviors (i.e. Gentle Persuasive Approach training) is preferred.
