Job Description

The Manager of Operations, Urgent Care Centre (UCC) and DASA in the Emergency Department is a member of the management team within the program/clinical area and is responsible for the coordination and direction of the UCC and DASA Services in the Emergency Department as well as the human and fiscal resources of the unit.

 

The Manager collaborates with the Program Director, Chief of Emergency, Patient Care Managers, Clinical Utilization Coordinators, Educator and other key members to ensure that high quality, effective and efficient services and care is provided. The Manager is accountable for planning, implementing and integrating plans for UCC and DASA that are in alignment with the Emergency Department, as well as the organization vision and strategic directions. The Manager is responsible for the management, operation and organizational effectiveness of the DASA and UCC departments, including managing all aspects of human and financial resources in DASA, collaborating with the team in developing, implementing and managing short and long-term strategic priorities and quality improvement initiatives impacting broader Emergency Department.

Primary Responsibilities:

  •  Oversight and accountability of operations at the Urgent Care Centre and DASA programs.
  • Attend internal and external meetings as it relates to the ED, UCC and DASA to assist in growing the needs of the program to support patients in the York Region community.
  • Oversight and accountability on ED quality initiatives and projects as needed to support the program.
  • Be accountable to support continuous improvement in key metrics and indicators for the program.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to move priorities forward for the program as needed.
  • Develop policies and procedures as required to support the ED, UCC and DASA.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to address priorities, operations, and quality care.
  • Work with the program leadership to advance local and provincial priorities as needed.

What must you have?

  • Registered Nurse Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario. 
  • Completion of Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years, recent, clinical frontline management experience, in acute care. 
  • Minimum 5 years, recent, clinical experience within the Emergency Department including a focus on DASA patients.
  • Leadership qualities:

Preferably, your profile also includes:
