Job Description

Assist in performing a variety of routine functions related to the provision of hemodialysis, following infection control and department policies and procedures.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Technical/mechanical ability and dexterity.
  • Healthcare experience in an acute care environment.
  • Knowledge of dialysis machines and the inner working of supporting a dialysis unit, required.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate or willing to obtain within three months of hire.
  • Primary assignment at the Vaughan Satellite Site; however may be assigned to the Mackenzie Health Main Site and/or Oak Ridge's Satellite Site based on operational needs.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others.
  • Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Health’s Commitment to Caring.

Preferably, your profile also includes:

 

  • Previous experience within the Dialysis Assistant classification.
