Mackenzie Health is currently looking for a Chief of Emergency Medicine to provide leadership to the Department of Emergency Medicine. The Chief will supervise all aspects of the medical care and deal with all medical issues that may arise in the Emergency Departments and Urgent Care Centre. This includes the provision of quality care, collegiality, call-coverage, the appropriate use of resources by medical staff as well as the creation and implementation of appropriate plans, policies, and procedures to ensure the smooth delivery of medical care. The Department Chief, will work collaboratively with relevant senior leadership staff, including program directors. The ideal candidate will possess the leadership skills and experience required to lead the program and must have training in and demonstrated clinical expertise in emergency medicine with at least five years of clinical experience.


Applicants for the position must hold an MD and be eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the College of Family Physicians of Canada in Emergency Medicine. They must be eligible for licensure in the province of Ontario and are expected to participate in clinical practice in Emergency Medicine.
