Reporting to the Program Director, Manager Capacity Optimization Resourcing (COR), Clinical Resource Team and Externs. The Manager is accountable for the ongoing development, implementation and continuous enhancements of the staffing and supports of MHelps for 3 sites. The Manager is a member of the management team, responsible for the clinical resource team, clinical externs including recruitment, performance management and day to day operations. The Manager collaborates with the Program Director, various Managers and other key interdisciplinary members across the organization, that will ensure support to programs focusing on quality care and patient safety. The Manager is accountable for collaborating with the COR and ALC team in reviewing staffing supports for MHelps.
Contribute to safe, quality care by:
- Back up support to facilitate the flow of patients across all Mackenzie Health organizations including Mackenzie Richmond Hill, Cortellucci Vaughan, Reactivation Care Centre and off site locations and external hospitals
- Leads the recruitment, performance management and daily requirements of the Clinical Resource Team, and Clinical externs and Extern Mentor Coordinators
- Oversees and coordinates the staff schedules, daily assignment, while assessing staff educational needs and ensuring staff are competent.
- Assesses ongoing staffing needs according to workload and staff competency; re- assigns and adjusts staffing based upon organizational and unit needs
- Monitors and responds timely to quality, safety, risk and other performance/ outcome indicators.
- Responsible to support teams and provide leadership
- Informs Clinical Educators whom support the teams of further learning needs and provides update as to new hires progress
- Collaborate with Professional practice in review of scope of practice and ongoing learning opportunities
- Provides ongoing feedback and coaching to staff
- Cultivates effective inter-professional relationships at all levels
- Identifies issues & challenges; monitoring trends requiring targeted interventions and change in practice patterns or processes
- Creates an environment that supports and advances professional practice, teamwork and communication through mentoring and role modeling application of "expert" clinical knowledge
- Supports the MHelps programs with staffing and ensuring supports to meet targets
- Completes management reports addressing program issues and variance from approved budget, including strategies to match available resources with patient need, as required

What must you have?
- Completion of Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or related field
- Registered Nurse Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum 5 years, recent, acute clinical experience within acute care
- 3-5 years leadership/Management experience

- Knowledge on setting up reports and setting daily deliverables to meet
